I have been a full-time independent editor since 2001, working with publishers and writers at all phases of the writing process. I provide development and line editing, copyediting, proofreading, and coding.
My experience with book production and my understanding of writers’ needs helps me to help my clients. I can get up to speed on projects with minimal explanation. I collaborate well with authors and production teams alike, and when questions do arise, I provide informed, polite, succinct queries that invite simple solutions. Keeping the overall publishing process in mind enables me to spot possible production complications and to work to resolve those during editing and manuscript preparation.
I work with trade and university presses; independent authors of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry; and scholarly and graduate-level writers. I also have a small number of nonprofit or corporate clients.
